The Irony!

About a month ago, I was excitedly keeping track of every word I wrote, eager to make it past the 60k mark, my goal.

Now I'm keeping track of every word I cut, eager to bring my chapters down in length and bring up the action sooner!

What goes up, must come down.

Or something like that.

Good luck with your revisions.

Ahhh, the ebb and flow of writing.

What beautiful images you both have! Me, all I kind think of is cutting through all the fluff with a big machete :)

Sometimes big machetes are swifter.

Oh - but watch out for the double edged sword...

I so get this! I remember some of my huge word cuts feeling so great!
I always equate cutting words to giving stuff to Goodwill. Give until it hurts. Then look around and give some more. Seriously. Do you ever really wear that shirt? And you don't need three pairs of blue shoes - even if you do like them all.

Cutting is fun. :) Good luck.

Haha, good analogy, PJ! And thanks, Keri :)
